Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Cope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mister Spock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cope's entrance music is Let's Go. A fine choice. Spock has chosen Rolling Stones- 2000 Light Years as his entrance music. Mike Cope has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Cope! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 2 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Mister Spock! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cope ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Spock moves away. Spock moves out of range as Cope strikes. Cope throws a lazy right hand but Spock sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Spock takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Cope lands a nice looking kick to the body. Spock takes a step back to recover. Spock on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cope. Cope slips under a jab. Cope drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Spock defending against the ground and pound. The strikes coming from Cope are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Cope has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Spock struggling a bit here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cope sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Spock is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Cope looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Spock defending against the ground and pound. Cope working the body and head with strikes. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Spock can do anything to dispel that myth. Spock is looking for a sweep. Cope working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cope misses with the ground and pound. Spock managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Cope.
Cope working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Spock dodges the ground and pound from Cope. Cope fails to land a wild elbow strike.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Spock parries the strikes from Cope easily there. Cope is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Spock to escape.
Cope misses with the ground and pound. Cope throwing shots but missing, from side control. Spock dodges the ground and pound from Cope. Cope misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Cope is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Spock knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Cope connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Spock some visible discomfort.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cope tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Spock is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Cope off and has taken his back! Cope wants to escape the position.
Cope wants to control his opponent's hands but Spock gets his hands free. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cope wants to escape the position.

Nice sprawl there from Spock as Cope shoots in. Spock will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Cope looks for the body kick but Spock saw that one coming. Spock throws a jab but it's blocked by Cope. Spock bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Spock moves out of range of the body kick from Cope.
Spock slips a jab from Cope. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Spock, as that shot connected.
Good shot there by Spock. Spock fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cope looks to land a left hand but Spock moved out of range nicely. Cope tries to land a front kick but Spock steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Mike Cope seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cope throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Spock tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cope is in Spock's guard. Spock looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cope is one step ahead there. Cope throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Spock works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spock keeping moving, preventing Cope from controlling successfully. Cope working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Cope tries to free his leg and advance position but Spock is retaining full guard. Spock is trying to control the position but Cope postures up. Cope missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cope pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Spock is keeping the position for now. Cope throwing strikes but missing. Cope looking to sit in guard and control but Spock gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Cope trying to control the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Cope fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spock cracks a nice hook into Cope's ribs. Cope misses with a kick to the body and Spock counters with a stiff right hand. Spock tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Cope counters with a straight right hand. Cope connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. A punch combination from Spock misses. Cope tries to land a front kick but Spock steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Cope throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cope throws a hook but Spock blocks it. Spock moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Cope finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Cope fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Spock is out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cope throws a nice looking combination but Spock bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Cope lands a nice leg kick that just misses Spock's sensitive parts. Cope lands a slapping body shot.
Cope shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Nice cross by Cope. Cope lands a nice looking body shot.
Spock thumps Cope with a low kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A low kick from Cope misses and Spock counters with a left to the body. Cope throws a head kick that misses. Spock is looking to slow Cope down with leg kicks. Cope throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cope throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Spock tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cope is in Spock's guard. Cope looking to sit in guard and control but Spock gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Cope has his feet on Spock's thighs here. He's pushed Spock off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Spock screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
