Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Boisson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Rivers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Rivers's choice of entrance music: Cyco Vision. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stan Rivers!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivers swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Boisson tries to clinch
and Rivers cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rivers slips a jab and a cross from Boisson.
Boisson tries to close the distance and clinch but Rivers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Boisson misses the body punch
and Rivers counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Boisson wants to clinch but Rivers slips to the side
and Rivers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Boisson fails with the takedown.
Rivers tries a head kick but it misses.
Boisson fails with the takedown.
Boisson missing with a left hand there. Rivers was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Rivers tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Stan Rivers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Rivers counters with a left to the body.

Rivers is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Boisson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rivers circles away quickly and effectively.

Rivers stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rivers wants it to stay on the feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Boisson shoots in looking for a takedown. Rivers tries to sprawl out of it but Boisson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rivers manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Rivers throws a sloppy head kick and Boisson moves out of range easily.
Rivers slaps away a takedown attempt from Boisson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rivers avoids a punch combination nicely.
Boisson shoots for a double leg takedown but Rivers sprawls well. He's pushed Boisson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Rivers lands a jab-cross combination.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Boisson shoots in for a takedown but Rivers shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Rivers lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rivers thuds his right hand into Boisson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Stan Rivers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Rivers leaves Boisson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Rivers lands a leg kick that knocks Boisson off balance momentarily.
Boisson shoots in looking for a takedown but Rivers manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Boisson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Boisson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rivers connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Boisson scrambles back to his feet.

Rivers lands a left and a right that send Boisson crashing to the mat, dazed. Rivers thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Boisson is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rivers scores with a jab to the jaw.
Oh Boisson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Stan Rivers seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Boisson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rivers is fending him off so far but Boisson persists. Nope, Rivers circles away and we're back to standing.
No luck for Boisson with that takedown attempt.
Rivers has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Boisson seems to have got his legs back now.

Rivers lands a big head kick that sends Boisson tumbling to the mat! Rivers takes a step backwards and waves Boisson back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Rivers throws a powerful right kick. Boisson tried to block low but the kick was high! Boisson was taken right off of his feet! Rivers jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Stan Rivers!
