Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between William Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Battle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Battle is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Big L work. Christian Battle will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christian Battle! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Kavanagh and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Battle swinging wildly here.
Wallace closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Wallace wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Battle, who protects the arm well. Battle is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Wallace is controlling him well. Wallace is trying to get an arm triangle but Battle is defending well. Wallace is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Battle knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Wallace tries for a kimura but Battle is defending well.

Wait, no, Battle rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Wallace's guard! Nice work there by Battle! Battle avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Battle must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
