Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Austin Powers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hugo Abodo!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powers staying out of range there.
Abodo slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Abodo loads up on a big right hand but Powers slips the punch.
Powers throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Abodo falls off balance throwing a combination
and Powers counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Powers avoids a kick to the body.
Abodo misses with a looping right.
Abodo throws a shot from downtown. Powers moves away and avoids it.
A jab from Abodo misses.
Abodo thows a left - swing and a miss!
Abodo walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Abodo throws a sloppy head kick and Powers moves out of range easily.
Abodo lands a nice shot that snaps Powers's head back.
A jab from Abodo misses.
Abodo misses with a looping left.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Abodo thows a body shot but no joy.
Abodo slips a jab and a cross from Powers.
Abodo fails to land with a series of punches.
Abodo moves forwards but Powers connects with a nice, crisp jab.
It looks like Hugo Abodo has been cut.
Powers knocks out Abodo with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Powers before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Powers picks up the big W with a huge KO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Austin Powers!
