Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Felipe Moreira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dewey Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moreira's entrance music is Samba de janeiro - bellini. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Cox's choice of entrance music: Guilty As Charged. Dewey Cox struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.4lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dewey Cox! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cox is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
It looks like Dewey Cox has been cut. Moreira has a takedown stuffed. Cox tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Moreira was well out of range. Poor timing from Cox. Moreira catches Cox with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Moreira clinches up with Cox and pushes him back against the cage. Moreira decides to pull guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Moreira looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Moreira wants to control but Cox is having none of it. Moreira fails in his attempt to clinch. Moreira tries to clinch up but Cox circles away and keeps his distance. Moreira tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cox swivels and escapes. Cox misses with a takedown attempt - Moreira sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Cox tries to bum rush Moreira with a series of wild strikes but Moreira uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Cox scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Cox blocks a head kick by Moreira.

No luck for Moreira with that takedown attempt. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Moreira throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A head kick by Moreira misses and Cox counters with a shoot takedown. Moreira fights it but they end up in guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Moreira lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Cox hang on? Moreira wants to control the pace but Cox is squirming around nicely. Cox tries to hold on but Moreira postures up. Cox blocking the ground and pound. Moreira thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Moreira tries to control but Cox wriggling away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moreira wants to finish this one by submission but Cox is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Moreira. Moreira swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Cox is now in Moreira's guard. A big mistake from Moreira there, giving up the dominant position! Cox won't allow Moreira to sweep him here. Moreira had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cox defends it easily. Cox trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Moreira looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Cox has picked Moreira up and slammed him! Moreira can't keep hold of the triangle and Cox manages to pass to side control! Moreira manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Moreira has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cox can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Moreira tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Cox counters with a flying knee. Nice. Felipe Moreira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Moreira darts in and clinches Cox up against the cage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Moreira has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Cox regains guard immediately. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cox looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Moreira is defending well. Cox quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Moreira has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Cox celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
