Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sunny Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Barlow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sunny Balboa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aaron Barlow!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barlow keeps the fight on the outside.
Balboa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Barlow but Barlow pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Balboa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Barlow looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Balboa blocks the strikes from Barlow.
Barlow is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Barlow is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Balboa trying to control the action but Barlow is working from the bottom.
Balboa is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Barlow is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Balboa scores with punches from side control.
Balboa grinds an elbow into Barlow's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barlow manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Barlow wants to improve his position but Balboa is controlling well.
Balboa is looking to advance position but Barlow won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Balboa is keen to just control but Barlow is a slippery customer.

Balboa works his way into side control.
Balboa controls the position.
Balboa postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Barlow is trying to get back to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Balboa is chipping away with strikes.

Balboa decides to stand back up. Balboa steps back and let's Barlow get back to his feet.
Barlow doesn't manage to clinch there - Balboa circles away.
Balboa moves in looking to clinch but Barlow pushes him off.

Barlow shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

and Balboa counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Balboa takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Barlow is defending against the submission attempts here by Balboa.
Barlow is trying to stand up here but Balboa is controlling him well.

Balboa is working for a kimura but Barlow is defending it quite comfortably.

Barlow looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Balboa connects with a nice short shot to Barlow's temple.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Balboa throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Balboa wants to pass the guard but Barlow is defending well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Balboa prevents Barlow from improving his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Balboa fails with a takedown attempt.
Balboa blocks a head kick by Barlow.
Balboa checks a low kick from Barlow.
Barlow misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sunny Balboa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Barlow throws a right hand that Balboa ducks under and follows up with a left that Balboa also avoids with ease.
Barlow circles away from the clinch attempt.
Balboa plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Balboa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Barlow moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Barlow throws a front kick aimed at Balboa's knee but Balboa avoids it well.

Barlow displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Balboa.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Barlow shoots in for a double leg but Balboa sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Barlow stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Barlow wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sunny Balboa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck for Barlow with that takedown attempt.
Barlow shoots in for a takedown but Balboa shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Balboa is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Barlow to keep the fight standing.

Balboa jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Barlow walks away with a smile on his face. Balboa gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Barlow dips to his left and cracks Balboa with an uppercut!
Barlow is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Balboa pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Barlow throws a nice looking combination but Balboa bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Barlow fails with a takedown attempt.
Barlow shoots in but no luck this time.
Balboa tries to clinch up but Barlow circles away and keeps his distance.

Balboa shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Barlow manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Balboa in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Barlow striking off his back but it's not causing Balboa any problems.

Barlow not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Aaron Barlow.
Barlow goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Barlow fails with the takedown.

Balboa is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Barlow's half guard.
Barlow is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Barlow trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Balboa manages to pass to mount!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Barlow regains half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sunny Balboa dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Balboa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Barlow sprawls well. Barlow wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Balboa gets slowly back to his feet.
Barlow throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Barlow looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Barlow will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Barlow takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Balboa throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Barlow was covering up waiting for the punch and Balboa finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Barlow throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Barlow is trying to keep Balboa in close.
Balboa keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Barlow's head.
Balboa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Barlow is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Aaron Barlow wasn't active enough on the ground.
Balboa misses with a straight left.

Balboa feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Balboa stands up and waves to Barlow to follow him.
Balboa tries to clinch there but Barlow circles away.

Balboa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Sunny Balboa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Barlow wants to control but Balboa postures up.

The ground and pound from Balboa seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Balboa is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Barlow is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Barlow can't do much from the bottom here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sunny Balboa showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Balboa has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
