Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Gullion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Laskey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gullion's entrance music is AFI: Miseria Cantera. A fine choice. Jerry Laskey has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy Gullion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jerry Laskey!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice straight punches there by Gullion. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Gullion.
Laskey avoids a punch combination nicely.
Laskey has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Gullion finds it's way round the side to connect with Laskey's head.
Gullion throws a jab but it's blocked by Laskey.

Laskey gets a clinch.
Gullion's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Laskey is trying to pull guard but Gullion turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Gullion is trying to break free.
Gullion trying to stall but Laskey improves his position.
Gullion looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Laskey lands a damaging elbow.


It looks like Jeremy Gullion has been cut.
Laskey is working for takedown but Gullion is calmly controlling the position for now.
Gullion tries to break free but Laskey pushes him back against the cage.
Gullion tries to circle away but Laskey has him pinned against the cage.

Laskey's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gullion throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Laskey drops his hands momentarily and Gullion takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Gullion keeps the fight on the outside.
Laskey slips under a jab from Gullion.
Laskey moves in looking to clinch but Gullion pushes him off.
No joy there for Gullion, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gullion just misses with a punch to the body.
Laskey shoots in looking for a takedown but Gullion manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Laskey's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jeremy Gullion has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jerry Laskey.
Gullion's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Gullion duly obliges.
Gullion looks to throw the jab but Laskey is out of range.
Gullion takes a swing at Laskey's ribcage but misses.
A jab from Gullion finds it's way through Laskey's defenses.

Laskey darts in trying to clinch
and Laskey takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Gullion fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Gullion avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gullion throws a right hand that Laskey ducks under and follows up with a left that Laskey also avoids with ease.
No joy there for Gullion, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Laskey tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Gullion manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gullion swats away the attempt to clinch by Laskey.

Laskey takes the fight into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Laskey creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
A right handed body shot lands from Laskey.

Laskey breaks the clinch.
Laskey tries to clinch up but Gullion circles away and keeps his distance.
Laskey lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gullion circles away quickly and effectively.
Gullion dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Laskey tries to clinch up.
Laskey tries to clinch but Gullion is having none of it.

Laskey rushes Gullion and presses him up against the cage.
Gullion tries to circle away but Laskey has him pinned against the cage.
Gullion wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Laskey has him pressed against the cage.
Laskey wants to take the fight to the mat but Gullion manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Gullion tries to break the clinch but Laskey is controlling the position.
Gullion is trying to push Laskey away but Laskey has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Laskey lands a nice elbow.
Gullion can't break the clinch.
Laskey drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Gullion gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Laskey keeps control of Gullion as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Laskey stalling in the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gullion stops a takedown attempt from Laskey.
Gullion is trying to break the clinch but Laskey is controlling him.
Laskey presses Gullion against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Gullion misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Laskey throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Gullion blocks it with crossed arms.
Gullion misses with a hook to the ribs.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Laskey goes for a takedown attempt but Gullion pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Laskey fails with a takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jeremy Gullion will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Gullion ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Gullion throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Gullion lands a really nice looking cross but Laskey seems unphased.
Jeremy Gullion is winning the standup battle so far.
Gullion missing with a left hand there. Laskey was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Laskey fails in his attempt to clinch.
Laskey is looking to clinch but Gullion is avoiding it.
Gullion throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Laskey stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Laskey closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Laskey has Gullion pressed against the cage, preventing Gullion from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Gullion is trying to break free.

Laskey pulls guard effortlessly.
Gullion throwing strikes from guard but Laskey blocks nicely.
Gullion wants to stand and escape but instead Laskey has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Laskey trying to control the position from guard on top but Gullion is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Laskey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gullion swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Laskey advances position into side control!
Gullion is trying to get back to half guard.

Laskey throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Gullion is looking for a sweep.
Gullion is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Laskey postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Laskey throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Laskey grinds an elbow into Gullion's temple.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
You can see the frustration on Gullion's face as Laskey controls the position.
Gullion is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Laskey has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Laskey stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Gullion swings widly with a right hand

and Laskey moves into the clinch.
Laskey lands a right hand that snaps the head of Gullion backwards.

Laskey manages to break the clinch.
Laskey uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gullion.
Laskey shoots for a double leg takedown but Gullion sprawls well. He's pushed Laskey's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gullion keeps the fight on the outside.

Laskey gets a clinch.
Laskey connects with a nasty looking knee right to Gullion's face.

Laskey pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Laskey closes the distance and clinches up with Gullion, looking for a takedown. Laskey pushes Gullion against the cage but Gullion circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gullion keeps the fight on the outside.

Laskey tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gullion throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Laskey.
Gullion misses with a right hand

and Laskey counters with a crisp one two that drops Gullion! Laskey thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Gullion to his feet! Gullion is in big trouble!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gullion throws a nice looking combination but Laskey bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gullion throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Laskey sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Laskey moves in looking to clinch but Gullion pushes him off.
Laskey shoots for a takedown but Gullion saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Laskey changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Gullion fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Laskey shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gullion pinned against the cage. Gullion gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gullion cracks Laskey with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Jerry Laskey seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Laskey lands an elbow that stopped Gullion in his tracks for a moment.
A nice right hand lands inside from Laskey.


Gullion is rocked!


Jeez, Jeremy Gullion's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Laskey ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Laskey no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Oh Gullion is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Laskey manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Laskey loads up with a big shot that hurts Gullion! He's pulled Laskey in close but Laskey has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Gullion survive? More strikes from Laskey and Gullion is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jerry Laskey!
