Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Troby Meida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen McGarry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meida comes into the arena with CB Sangue bom blaring out of the sound system. McGarry has chosen Hugh Laurie - You Don't Know My Mind as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Troby Meida! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Stephen McGarry! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Emerson Jorge and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meida shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Meida takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Troby Meida has been cut. McGarry lands a big shot that drops Meida! Can he finish him?
Meida is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McGarry works a leg free and moves into half guard. Oh Meida is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! McGarry takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. It looks like McGarry might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. McGarry tries to pass to full mount but Meida defends it. Meida seems to have got his legs back now. McGarry is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGarry lands strikes from half guard. McGarry sitting and controlling from the half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Meida is trying to stand up here but McGarry is controlling him well. McGarry perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Stephen McGarry hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. McGarry shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Meida is trying to defend but McGarry finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Well, if McGarry is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGarry sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Meida defending well though. Meida taking some punishment here, with McGarry in his half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McGarry is looking to pass Meida's guard but actually Meida recovers to full guard. Meida has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McGarry can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGarry trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. McGarry stays in close to Meida's body and controls the position. Meida has momentary wrist control but McGarry slips an elbow through the middle. McGarry pushing down on Meida's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. McGarry wants to pass to mount but Meida is defending the position. McGarry scoring with strikes to the body and head. Meida is trying to defend against the ground and pound but McGarry scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McGarry scoring with strikes to the body and head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Meida avoiding damage under a succession of punches from McGarry. McGarry moves into full mount! Meida won't be happy about that! McGarry unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Meida wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! McGarry celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stephen McGarry! A less than humble Stephen McGarry misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
