Nikil comes into the arena with Wait and Bleed by Slipknot blaring out of the sound system. Styles has chosen Ludacris - Get Back as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nikil tries to close the distance and clinch up but Styles swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Styles throws out a leg kick but Nikil moves out of range and Styles only half commits.
Nikil shoots in but no luck this time.

Nikil closes the distance and pushes Styles back into the cage.
Styles is trying to maintain a safe position but Nikil gets an underhook and turns Styles into the cage.
Styles lands a shoulder strike.

It looks like Kenrick Nikil has been cut.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Styles creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Styles manages to break the clinch.
Styles tries to land a leg kick but Nikil saw it coming and moves away.

Styles ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nikil moves away.
