The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Haukka misses with a double jab
and Haukka takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Gracie takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Gracie tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Haukka manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Haukka throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sloppy strikes from Haukka. Those never looked like landing.
Haukka really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Haukka lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Haukka misses with a double jab
and Gracie counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Gracie is working for takedown but Haukka is calmly controlling the position for now.
Haukka lands with a left to the head.
Haukka escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gracie tries to clinch but Haukka moves out of range.
Haukka is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Haukka shuts the power down on Gracie. Lights out, game over! Haukka is your winner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Pillu Haukka!
After the fight, Pillu Haukka was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
