Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Duval (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Haws (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duval comes into the arena with Midnight City blaring out of the sound system. Haws has chosen The Garden's All Nighters as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Jason Duval has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jason Duval seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Duval! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Haws! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Haws staying out of range there. Duval misses with a few strikes there.
Jason Duval seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Haws shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Duval napping and manages to drive through into side control! Duval parries the strikes from Haws easily there. Haws is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Duval to escape.
Haws throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Haws tries to score with some ground and pound. Duval controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Haws wants to lay and pray for a moment but Duval keeps working. Haws is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Haws prevents Duval from escaping the position. Haws wants to control for a moment but Duval uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haws thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Duval's head. Haws has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Haws trying to control the action but Duval is working from the bottom. Haws looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Haws works his way to full guard. Good work. Duval got a little sloppy there for a moment and Haws has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Duval has managed to get both his arms back between Haws's legs - danger averted. Duval might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Haws has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Duval can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Duval wants to get up but he can't break Haws's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Haws won't allow Duval to get back to his feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Duval utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Duval uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Haws's guard. Nice move by Duval! Haws tries to land a sweep but no joy. Haws working for a triangle but Duval defends it easily.
