Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fernandez Junior drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jao Lai hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Lai fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Fernandez Junior.
Lai tries to sprawl but Fernandez Junior drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Lai is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Lai working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fernandez Junior doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fernandez Junior manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Lai seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Let's hope that Lai has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Some bone on bone action there as Lai checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Jao Lai comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lai has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
