Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chance Taken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Venturia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Venturia has chosen Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise as his entrance music. Chance Taken had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Venturia does no damage.

Horrible takedown by Taken or perhaps it was just good defense by Venturia which made him look bad.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Venturia holds on and takes a little breather.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Let's hope that Venturia has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Venturia lands with a kick to the temple. Taken shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Taken changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Venturia tries to avoid it but Taken manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Venturia to the ground. Venturia escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Taken misses with a takedown attempt - Venturia sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
