Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Surge Kongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kerr has chosen Scotland The Brave [Instrumental] as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tom Kerr! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kerr swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kongo. Kerr stuffs a takedown. Kongo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kerr pulls his head out easily. Kerr not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Kerr is trying to control. Kongo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Kongo gets full guard. Kerr must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kongo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Kongo seems keen to control Kerr's posture.

Kerr throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kongo works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kongo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kongo seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kerr has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Surge Kongo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kongo regains half guard. Kongo has his hands clasped together around Kerr's back. He's all about the action. Kongo looks like he's trying to stand up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kerr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kerr being controlled here momentarily. Kongo keeping moving, preventing Kerr from controlling successfully. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kerr with a nice head shot there. Kongo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kerr's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kongo has gone for a leg lock! Kerr slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kongo's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

And that's the end of the fight! Surge Kongo showed his dominance in that final round. Well Kongo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
