PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Radzimanowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Keats (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Radzimanowski comes to the cage accompanied by Ennio Morricone - Ecstasy of Gold . Keats has chosen Pioneer of Metal as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jim Keats!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Radzimanowski misses with an uppercut. Keats saw that one coming.
Keats looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Radzimanowski.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Radzimanowski.
Keats stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Keats wants it to stay on the feet.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Radzimanowski has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Radzimanowski shoots in for a double leg but Keats sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Radzimanowski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Radzimanowski changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Keats tries to avoid it but Radzimanowski manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Keats to the ground. Keats escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Keats looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Keats throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Keats enables Radzimanowski to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Keats manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Keats has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Radzimanowski has passed into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Keats is trying to control Radzimanowski's posture but Radzimanowski avoids it.
Keats might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Radzimanowski kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Jim Keats showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Keats's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Radzimanowski.
I think Radzimanowski has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
