Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robin Kidd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Gugenheim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kidd comes to the cage accompanied by Ain't No Sunshine. Gugenheim has chosen Atomic Dog by George Clinton as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Robin Kidd has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kidd lands a body shot.

It looks like Chad Gugenheim has been cut. Oooooh!!! Kidd has knocked Gugenheim down with a huge combo! Kidd steps away and waves a wobbly Gugenheim back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

That's one minute gone in the round. Gugenheim tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kidd sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gugenheim somewhat. Robin Kidd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chad Gugenheim. Kidd ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Gugenheim staggers backwards, shaken. Kidd stuffs the takedown. Robin Kidd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. and Gugenheim counters with a shoot takedown. Kidd fights it but they end up in guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Kidd is looking to stand up but Gugenheim isn't so interested in that idea. Gugenheim drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gugenheim jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gugenheim slips nicely into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kidd kicks off Gugenheim and gets to his feet. Kidd keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kidd throws a right and a left that both miss. Gugenheim uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kidd. Gugenheim shoots in for a takedown but Kidd shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Kidd is working the combinations to good effect here. Kidd tries to bum rush Gugenheim with a series of wild strikes but Gugenheim uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Kidd lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Kidd will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Gugenheim has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kidd fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gugenheim manages to avoid it. Kidd misses with a wild body shot. Kidd lands with a shot to the body. Kidd scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A combination from Kidd does no damage. Kidd clobbers Gugenheim with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gugenheim is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kidd sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Kidd is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Kidd stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Kidd connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Kidd misses with a shot to the body and Gugenheim counters with a nice double leg into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gugenheim trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Kidd wants to stand up but Gugenheim is controlling him. Gugenheim postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kidd is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gugenheim, into his guard. Kidd with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kidd missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Gugenheim working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kidd doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kidd manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Gugenheim is looking for a triangle here but Kidd uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Kidd is staying tight to Gugenheim's torso, preventing him from escaping. Kidd trying to control the action but Gugenheim is working from the bottom. Gugenheim tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kidd just content to control the position. Kidd throws an elbow but Gugenheim slips to the side and avoids it well. Gugenheim tries to improve position but can't. Kidd trying to control the position but Gugenheim is working away. Gugenheim managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Kidd.
Gugenheim is looking to regain half guard here but Kidd keeps moving and retains side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kidd is looking to take a break and control but Gugenheim is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gugenheim tries to bench press Kidd off him but Kidd keeps the position. Kidd in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Gugenheim is not content to let Kidd control the position. Gugenheim takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kidd trying to control the position but Gugenheim is working away. Gugenheim is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kidd off and has taken his back! Kidd wants to get back to his feet. Gugenheim is persistently looking for the submission but Kidd is defending it well.
This has been an exciting period of action! Kidd controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Robin Kidd will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Chad Gugenheim's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Gugenheim on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Kidd thows a huge punch but Gugenheim dodges it nicely.

Chad Gugenheim has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kidd trying to control but Gugenheim is working from the bottom. Kidd keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gugenheim's head.
And that's the end of the fight! Robin Kidd showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kidd, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
