Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lonnie Kiger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mountain Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lonnie Kiger! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mountain Rivera! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rivera fails to land the takedown. Kiger scores with a jab. Kiger throws a right and a left that both miss. Rivera fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Kiger rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rivera moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Kiger tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rivera was well out of range. Poor timing from Kiger. Rivera takes one on the button. Rivera tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kiger sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rivera somewhat. Lonnie Kiger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mountain Rivera. Nice sprawl there from Kiger as Rivera shoots in. A jab from Kiger misses. Rivera fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Nice shot lands for Kiger. Kiger tries to clinch up but Rivera circles away and keeps his distance. Rivera shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kiger counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Rivera shoots in but no luck this time. Kiger pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Rivera back to the cage. Kiger follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rivera with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kiger to score with a decent uppercut. Kiger throws a right hand that Rivera ducks under and follows up with a left that Rivera also avoids with ease. Rivera moves in looking to clinch but Kiger pushes him off. Kiger stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Rivera circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kiger sizes up Rivera with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Kiger feints a jab promting Rivera to slip. Kiger then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Rivera slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Lonnie Kiger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kiger missing with a left hand there. Rivera was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Rivera walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Lonnie Kiger is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kiger gets a clinch. Rivera is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kiger is defending well for now. Kiger looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Kiger tries to break the clinch but Rivera is controlling the position. Rivera has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head and Kiger goes down! Rivera dives on top of him - Kiger manages to get guard.
It looks like Lonnie Kiger has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rivera scoring with some ground and pound. Rivera trying to control but Kiger is working from the bottom. Rivera scoring with some ground and pound.
Kiger is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rivera seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Oh Kiger is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Rivera postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Kiger covers up, he's hurt! Rivera keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Rivera and the ref steps in to end the fight! Rivera can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mountain Rivera!
