The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaplan rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and von Herrmann counters with a good low kick that Kaplan was not able to check.
Kaplan misses with a few strikes there.

Kaplan has managed to clinch.
Kaplan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. von Herrmann smiles and moves away.

Kaplan rushes von Herrmann and presses him up against the cage.

von Herrmann breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and von Herrmann counters with a takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kaplan is looking to reverse the position.

von Herrmann lands some shots froms side control.

It looks like Joe Kaplan has been cut.
von Herrmann lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kaplan down.
