Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brandon Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yap Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin fails with a takedown attempt.

Taylor closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Martin to the mat! Martin manages to get full guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Martin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Taylor has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Martin has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Martin manages to reverse the position and now he's in Taylor's guard. Nice work there by Martin.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Martin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Martin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Taylor avoids it really well and circles away.

Martin winds up and cracks Taylor with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Brandon Martin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Martin tries to pass the half guard into mount. Taylor knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Martin has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Taylor tries to lock up and control but Martin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Martin looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Taylor covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
