Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Roach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Javier Wescott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Roach!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Javier Wescott!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wescott tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Roach shoots in but no luck this time.
Roach avoids the head kick by Wescott.

A decent looking cross lands there for Wescott.
Wescott scores with a head kick. Roach tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Roach bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Roach is trying to ground and pound but Wescott uses the momentary lack of control by Roach to regain half guard.
Roach has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Roach decides to stand and escape the position.
Wescott ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Roach fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wescott, pushing him back against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wescott tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Roach smiles and moves away.
Wescott pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A head kick misses from Wescott.

Roach dives in and scores a takedown into Wescott's guard.

Roach wants to control from the top but Wescott keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

We're going to have a standup here because Frank Roach wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Roach clinches.
Wescott has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Roach after a bit of a struggle.
Wescott goes for a takedown in the clinch but Roach prevents it.
Frank Roach has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Javier Wescott.
Wescott can't find room to land a body shot as Roach controls the action.
Wescott is trying to pull guard but Roach turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Wescott tries for a takedown but Roach manages to get underhooks.

Roach turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Roach manages to end up in side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A lull in the action here as Roach stalls from top position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Roach working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Roach is looking to take a break and control but Wescott is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Roach grinds an elbow into Wescott's temple.
Roach happy to just control the position for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Roach stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Roach drives through and clinches with Wescott against the cage.

Roach has clasped his hands together around Wescott's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Roach tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Roach has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Roach dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Wescott throws a sloppy head kick and Roach moves out of range easily.

Roach gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Wescott is trying to break the clinch but Roach has him pressed against the cage.

Roach drags the fight down to the ground.
Roach lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Wescott!

Wescott really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Roach. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Roach cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wescott tries to hold on but Roach postures up.

Wescott is wriggling around trying to escape.
Roach lands with some strikes.

Roach controlling the pace for now.

Roach is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Wescott is surviving well by controlling Roach's body position as best he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Roach postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Wescott badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Roach around the waist but Roach pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Roach is the winner by TKO! Roach jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Roach!
