Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Toby Le Rone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Welsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Le Rone comes into the arena with Let The Bodies Hit The Floor - Drowning Pool blaring out of the sound system. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Toby Le Rone! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rick Welsh! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Le Rone scores with a nice strike. Le Rone throws a front kick aimed at Welsh's knee but Welsh avoids it well. Le Rone tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Welsh was well out of range. Poor timing from Le Rone. Le Rone fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Le Rone scores with a leg kick.
Welsh is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Le Rone lands a nice leg kick that just misses Welsh's sensitive parts. Le Rone just misses with a punch to the body.
Le Rone lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Welsh misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Welsh throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Le Rone swings for the body but Welsh moves out of range.
Welsh takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
That's one minute gone in the round. Le Rone throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Le Rone lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Welsh takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Le Rone stuffs the takedown. Le Rone lands with a nice body kick. Le Rone connects with an inside leg kick. A lazy left from Le Rone finds it's target. Le Rone moves out of range of the body kick from Welsh.
Welsh avoids a kick to the body.
Welsh darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Le Rone looks like he's trying to stand up.
Le Rone knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Welsh on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Welsh is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Le Rone defends it well. Welsh is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Le Rone sees it coming and defends easily. Le Rone is looking to control Welsh's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Le Rone avoid being mounted? Welsh in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Le Rone tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Welsh!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rick Welsh! Rick Welsh is the new light heavyweight champion! Rick Welsh decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
