Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Slava Vitruk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Florin Chernat!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vitruk gets a double leg takedown into Chernat's guard.
Chernat utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Chernat is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vitruk postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Vitruk gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Some wild striking there from Chernat.
Vitruk bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Vitruk throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Chernat tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Vitruk is in Chernat's guard.
Vitruk not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Vitruk will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vitruk wants to pass the guard but Chernat is keeping the position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Vitruk's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vitruk throws a big right hand that misses.
Vitruk trying to control but Chernat is working from the bottom.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Chernat can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vitruk controls the pace.
Vitruk is working Chernat over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Vitruk is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Slava Vitruk.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Chernat, as that shot connected.
A punch combination from Chernat misses.
Vitruk closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Chernat quickly recovers to half guard.
Chernat looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vitruk lands with a punch from half guard.
Vitruk has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vitruk seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Chernat is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
