Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ossss Steve! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dhal Sim! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sim tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Steve fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Sim to the ground. Steve is now in Sim's guard. Sim trying to keep a closed guard but Steve is proving a slippery customer.
Steve stands up from guard. Let's bang! Steve shoots in and gets a takedown into Sim's guard.
Sim is rocked! Sim controls Steve momentarily but Steve frees himself. Sim is still in real trouble! Can Steve finish him? Steve trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Sim seems to have recovered his senses. Sim trying to keep a closed guard but Steve is proving a slippery customer.
Sim is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Steve gets to his feet. Sim looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sim cracks the inside of Steve's front leg. Sim is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Sim instigates a clinch. Steve drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sim pulls his leg out and moves away.
Steve keeps the fight on the outside. Sim fails in his attempt to clinch. A slapping leg kick lands for Sim.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sim gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Sim is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Steve looking to pass the guard. Sim trying to keep a closed guard but Steve is proving a slippery customer.
Steve might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Steve wanted to stand there but Sim had control of the position.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Dhal Sim hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Steve keeps the fight on the outside. Steve looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Sim! Steve working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Sim turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Steve off and cradles Sim's limp body as Steve celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Ossss Steve!
