Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Blackmon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyryon Lannister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for John Blackmon has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Blackmon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Tyryon Lannister! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blackmon tries to close the distance and clinch but Lannister swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Blackmon tries to clinch but fails miserably and Lannister counters with a single leg into guard. Blackmon didn't expect that. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Lannister controls from within his opponent's guard. Blackmon keeping moving, preventing Lannister from controlling successfully. Blackmon working a defensive guard here.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tyryon Lannister wasn't active enough on the ground. Blackmon wants to clinch. Blackmon lands a head kick. Lannister smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Lannister circles away from the clinch attempt and Lannister decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Blackmon's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lannister avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Blackmon has a closed guard, preventing Lannister from standing up. Lannister controlling from the top position. Lannister trying to control the position from guard on top but Blackmon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Blackmon throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Lannister is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lannister postures up in Blackmon's guard and throws a big left but Blackmon blocks it. Lannister should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Lannister looking to pass the guard. Lannister really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blackmon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lannister seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Tyryon Lannister was stalling too much, according to the referee. Blackmon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Blackmon thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Blackmon looking to control but Lannister is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blackmon moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Lannister has worked his arm free - good work by Lannister!
Blackmon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Blackmon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lannister, who protects the arm well. Blackmon trying to control the action but Lannister is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lannister being controlled for a moment. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Blackmon trying to control the position but Lannister is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Blackmon will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Blackmon. Lannister closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lannister lands in his opponent's guard. Blackmon looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Lannister is defending well. Blackmon quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Lannister has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Blackmon celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). John Blackmon!
