The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takanaka rushes Hanegan and presses him up against the cage.
Hanegan lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Takanaka has clasped his hands together around Hanegan's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Takanaka wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hanegan keeps working.

Hanegan is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Takanaka trying to control but Hanegan is having none of it.

Takanaka wants to finish this one by submission but Hanegan is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Takanaka.

Takanaka wants to control the pace but Hanegan is squirming around nicely.
Takanaka takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Hanegan wants to control but Takanaka is having none of it.
Takanaka is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hanegan is surviving well by controlling Takanaka's body position as best he can.

Hanegan tries to hold on but Takanaka pushes him away.

Takanaka lands a big shot there that rocks Hanegan but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Hanegan is desperately trying to improve his position but Takanaka has a good base and remains in mount.
Hanegan tries to lock up and control but Takanaka gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Hanegan is working to get back to half guard.
Takanaka landing punches.
Hanegan is trying to reverse the position but instead Takanaka has taken his back - oops!
Takanaka sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Hanegan taps out!
