Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between JP Flaim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Micheals (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Micheals is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Minatoro theme song. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Micheals! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flaim shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Flaim tries to clinch but Micheals moves out of range. Flaim will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. The fight moves into the clinch position. Micheals lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Micheals with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Micheals scores a nice knee to the body.
Micheals tries a knee to the head but Flaim blocks it.
Micheals breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Micheals tries to clinch up and Flaim counters with a two punch combo. Micheals clinches with his opponent.

Micheals lands an elbow inside that Flaim shrugs off. Micheals scores with a knee to the head.

Flaim has Micheals pushed against the cage. Micheals lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Micheals stops a takedown attempt from Flaim.

Flaim's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Micheals's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Micheals lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Flaim backwards. Micheals comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Micheals landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Flaim closes this distance looking for a takedown but Micheals circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Flaim looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Antonio Micheals seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Flaim is looking to clinch. Micheals keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Micheals looks to clinch and Flaim decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Micheals's guard. Micheals throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Flaim wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Micheals has him pressed against the cage. Flaim is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Flaim drags the fight down to the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Flaim holds on and takes a little breather. Flaim lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Micheals!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flaim putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Micheals really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Flaim. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Flaim fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Flaim can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Micheals is looking to escape. Flaim controlling the pace for now. Micheals keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Micheals is squirming around, avoiding Flaim's attempts to control the action. Flaim will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Flaim landing strikes from the mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Micheals really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Flaim throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Micheals has his hands clasped together but Flaim breaks the hold and Micheals is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Flaim!
