Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Saint Cha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Saint Cha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Silva!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cha fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Silva fails with a takedown attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Silva looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Cha misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cha closes the distance and clinches up with Silva, looking for a takedown. Cha pushes Silva against the cage but Silva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Silva circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cha displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Silva.

Silva instigates a clinch.
Silva drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Saint Cha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Silva.
Cha tries to break the clinch but Silva is controlling the position.
Cha content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Silva keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Cha's efforts to push away.

Silva gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Cha regains guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Cha is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Cha is looking for a triangle but Silva pushes his legs off easily.
Silva postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Silva drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cha manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Silva has Cha in his guard.

Silva pushes Cha off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cha shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silva pinned against the cage. Silva gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cha keeps the fight on the outside.
Cha lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silva circles away quickly and effectively.
Sloppy strikes from Cha. Those never looked like landing.
Cha looks for a takedown but Silva sprawls well.
Cha is breathing heavily.

Silva darts in and clinches Cha up against the cage.
Cha gets underhooks to prevent Silva's takedown attempt.
Silva is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Cha gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Silva has Cha pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Cha manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Silva breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Cha ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Silva tries to clinch there but Cha circles away.
Alex Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Silva is defended easily by Cha.
Cha is looking to clinch but Silva is avoiding it.

Cha closes the distance and pushes Silva back into the cage.
Cha wants to get back to striking at distance but Silva won't allow it.
Cha drops down looking for an ankle pick but Silva pulls his leg out and moves away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch but Cha swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alex Silva dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Cha dives in and grabs Silva's left leg, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes down on Cha's head and hops out.
Silva throws a push kick but Cha slaps the foot to one side.
Silva tries to clinch up but Cha circles away and keeps his distance.
Cha swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva.
Cha fails with an attempt to clinch.
Silva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cha avoids it really well and circles away.
Cha stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cha wants it to stay on the feet.
Silva shoots in but Cha avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Saint Cha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Silva.

Cha tries to close the distance and clinch but Silva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

No luck for Cha with that takedown attempt.
Silva stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Silva wants it to stay on the feet.
Cha shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Silva decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cha's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cha keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully.
Cha looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Silva in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Cha escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Silva gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silva wants to control from the top but Cha keeps moving.

Silva thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Silva connects with a couple of short punches.
Silva postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cha swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Silva stands up and waves to Cha to follow him.

Silva shoots in and gets a takedown into Cha's guard.
Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Cha is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Silva accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Silva content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Silva passes into half guard.
Silva landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Silva trying to control the action but Cha is working from the bottom.
Cha has hold of Silva's hands but Silva slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Silva lands strikes from half guard.
Silva looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Cha on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Silva seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Silva is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Cha knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
Silva wants to take a breather but Cha is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alex Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Cha is looking for a triangle here but Silva uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Silva works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Cha can't do much from the bottom here.

Cha is rocked!
Silva in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Oh Cha is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Silva has hold of Cha's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Cha seems comfortable defending it but Silva has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Cha is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Cha is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Silva couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Alex Silva!
