Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Merval Jacobson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Marcos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Marcos is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Merval Jacobson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, David Marcos! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jacobson fails with the takedown and Marcos counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jacobson! We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Marcos with the ground and pound from mount. Marcos takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Jacobson is trying to escape the mount.
Marcos avoids the attempt from Jacobson to control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Marcos controlling from the full mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up. David Marcos was stalling too much, according to the referee. Jacobson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Marcos paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jacobson throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Jacobson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Marcos counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Marcos preventing the sweep. Marcos postures up.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Marcos sitting in guard here, content to control. Marcos stands up and waves to Jacobson to follow him. Marcos shoots in looking for a takedown but Jacobson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Marcos's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jacobson tries to clinch up and Marcos counters with a left and a right that stings Jacobson. Jacobson moves in looking to clinch but Marcos pushes him off. Jacobson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Marcos sprawls well. Marcos wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jacobson gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Merval Jacobson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jacobson tries to clinch but Marcos moves away and Marcos counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Jacobson tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Marcos has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Marcos lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Marcos controlling from mount. Marcos with a couple of short strikes. Marcos looking to control and managing it successfully. Marcos is working for a guillotine from mount but Jacobson frees his head quite easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jacobson wants to control but Marcos is having none of it. Marcos sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jacobson tries for a takedown but Marcos circles away easily and Marcos counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jacobson's guard now. Jacobson being controlled here, momentarily. Marcos is working Jacobson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Marcos trying to control but Jacobson is working from the bottom. Marcos slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Marcos working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Marcos wants to control from the top but Jacobson keeps moving. Jacobson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Marcos. Jacobson is looking to clinch. Marcos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jacobson but Jacobson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jacobson shoots in looking for a takedown. Marcos tries to sprawl out of it but Jacobson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Marcos manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jacobson tries to clinch up but Marcos circles away and keeps his distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marcos shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jacobson's guard. Jacobson keeping moving, preventing Marcos from controlling successfully. Jacobson is trying to hold Marcos in close to prevent damage but Marcos has managed to pass into half guard.

Marcos feints and as Jacobson raises his hands in defense, Marcos changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Jacobson wants to sweep but no luck. Marcos's corner is telling him to maintain position. Marcos sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jacobson's guard. Marcos content to control rather than advance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Marcos decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Jacobson with a lazy takedown attempt and Marcos counters with a takedown into side control. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Merval Jacobson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jacobson tries to buck Marcos off but Marcos is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marcos controls the position. Marcos in side control lands a decent elbow. Marcos landing strikes. Marcos controlling the position. Jacobson wants to control but Marcos postures up. Marcos is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Jacobson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marcos scores with punches from side control. Marcos takes a little break here. Jacobson wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Jacobson tries to buck Marcos off but Marcos is having none of it. You can see the frustration on Jacobson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Jacobson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Marcos is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jacobson tries to clinch there but Marcos circles away.
Marcos stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Marcos wants it to stay on the feet. Merval Jacobson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! David Marcos is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Marcos closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jacobson to the mat! Jacobson manages to get full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! David Marcos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Marcos winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
