Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenji Akiyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bones Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akiyama comes into the arena with Akiyama Theme Song (This Is My Life - Edward Maya) blaring out of the sound system. Jones has chosen Gimme back my bullets as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.
Akiyama checks the leg kick.

enabling Jones to counter with a crisp jab.
Jones has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Akiyama.
Akiyama bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

and Jones counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Jones throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A lazy left from Akiyama finds it's target.
It looks like Bones Jones has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jones moves out of range as Akiyama throws a body kick.

and Akiyama counters with a slapping leg kick.
Akiyama is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jones.

Akiyama fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jones looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Jones throws an overhand right that lands on Akiyama's shoulder, as Akiyama tries to avoid the shot.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Akiyama lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jones has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jones and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Akiyama thuds a left hand into Jones's body.
Akiyama ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jones moves away.
Jones misses with a looping left.
Akiyama misses with a body shot.
Akiyama does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Akiyama fails with an attempt to clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Akiyama comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Akiyama keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jones misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Akiyama.
Akiyama misses with a head kick.
Akiyama bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Akiyama sprawls well. Akiyama wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.
Kenji Akiyama has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bones Jones.

Akiyama drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Akiyama tries to land a front kick but Jones steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Akiyama.

Akiyama is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Jones is keeping busy.

Akiyama creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Jones's defenses.

Akiyama lands a left hand that snaps the head of Jones backwards.
Jones tries to work over Akiyama's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Jones takes an elbow to the temple.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Akiyama is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jones is defending well for now.
Akiyama comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Akiyama trying to control the position but instead, Jones has worked for underhooks and has pushed Akiyama into the cage.
Jones has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Akiyama is trying to keep an underhook but Jones manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Akiyama wants to control but Jones is keeping busy.
Jones is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Akiyama is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Jones scores with a couple of nice shots.
Jones is just content to waste time from the top position. Akiyama takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Akiyama stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Akiyama is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Akiyama is one step ahead there.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Jones throws out a loose jab but Akiyama uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jones connects with a leg kick. Akiyama looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Akiyama ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jones moves away.
Jones needs to keep his hands up - Akiyama had a free shot at his head there.
Jones takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
That has opened up Bones Jones's cut even more.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Akiyama uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jones.
Jones is still on wobbly legs! Can Akiyama finish him?
Akiyama is looking to wear down Jones with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Akiyama drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Jones right on the button. Jones goes down! Akiyama follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Akiyama gets the win via TKO!
