And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sasha Lagoo!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Guapo clinches up against the cage.
Lagoo takes a knee to the side of the body.
Lagoo fails to pull guard.
Lagoo jumps guard but Guapo turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Guapo lands an elbow just above Lagoo 's eye.
Guapo scores with a shot to the side of Lagoo's head.
Lagoo throws a head punch that misses.
Lagoo is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Guapo lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Lagoo backwards.
Lagoo blocks the elbow strike.

Guapo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Guapo lands a head shot.
Guapo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lagoo.

Guapo gets a clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Guapo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lagoo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
El Guapo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sasha Lagoo.
Lagoo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Guapo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lagoo loads up on a big right hand but Guapo slips the punch.
A big left from Lagoo misses.
Lagoo throws a combination that misses
and Guapo counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Lagoo staying out of range there.
Guapo punishes Lagoo's body with a nice straight punch.
Lagoo misses with an uppercut. Guapo saw that one coming.
Guapo scores with a nice strike.
Lagoo digs a good body shot into Guapo's ribs.
Lagoo tries a head kick but it misses.
An inside leg kick lands from Guapo.
Lagoo on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Guapo drives through and clinches with Lagoo against the cage.
Guapo slowing the pace effectively.
Guapo has Lagoo pressed against the cage, preventing Lagoo from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Guapo is stalling here.
Guapo creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Lagoo's defenses.

It looks like Sasha Lagoo has been cut.
Lagoo is trying to pull guard but Guapo turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Lagoo pulls guard effortlessly.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Lagoo has a closed guard, preventing Guapo from standing up.

Lagoo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Guapo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Lagoo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Guapo defends it easily.

Lagoo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Guapo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Guapo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Lagoo is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Lagoo pushes a forearm under Guapo's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Guapo is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
