PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Micheals (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Blatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Micheals kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Whoa is Me. Blatt is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: you're going down- sick puppies. Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blatt ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Micheals lands with a slapping head kick.

It looks like Jeff Blatt has been cut.
Blatt blocks a jab.
Frank Micheals seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Blatt throws a hook but Micheals blocks it.
Blatt tries to clinch up but Micheals circles away and keeps his distance.
Micheals throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Blatt avoids the body shot from Micheals.
A right-left combo lands from Micheals.
Micheals tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Micheals throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Micheals takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Blatt scores with a takedown into Micheals's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Micheals is trying to control the position but Blatt postures up.
Blatt stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Micheals swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Frank Micheals wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Micheals tries a head kick but it misses.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Blatt counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Blatt lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Micheals feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Blatt's calf.
Micheals connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Blatt momentarily.

Micheals misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Blatt takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Micheals throws a low kick but Blatt moves out of range easily.
Micheals dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Blatt. That did some damage!
Micheals connects with a leg kick. Blatt looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Micheals bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Micheals scores with the left hand. Blatt knows he should have avoided that one.

Blatt is rocked!
Look low, kick high! Micheals uses the oldest trick in the book to send Blatt tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Micheals is absolutely delighted - when Blatt wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
