Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kane Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Phoenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kane Alves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paul Phoenix ! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alves tries to close the distance and clinch up but Phoenix swats him away and circles back towards the center. Phoenix takes a swing at Alves's ribcage but misses. Phoenix swings for the body but Alves moves out of range.
Paul Phoenix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Phoenix looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Alves wants to get back to his feet.
Alves is trying to escape back to his feet but Phoenix uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Alves bucks up and tries to throw Phoenix off but instead Phoenix has got his back!
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves looking very determined here, making life difficult for Phoenix .
Alves controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Alves wants to control his opponent's hands but Phoenix gets his hands free.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Alves trying to get back to his feet but Phoenix is in full control for now. Alves is breathing heavily. Alves trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Phoenix wants to control but Alves is keeping busy. Alves tries to escape but Phoenix has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Phoenix has good solid back control here. I looks like Phoenix might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. A lull in the action here.
Alves has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Phoenix dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Phoenix shoots in and bounces Alves off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Phoenix stops Alves from standing up. Alves is wriggling around but Phoenix manages to pass to half guard.
Alves is trying to control but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Phoenix not doing much here.
Phoenix stands up out of the half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A punch lands to the side of Phoenix 's head but he takes it in his stride. Phoenix throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Alves sees it coming and avoids it easily. Alves stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Phoenix is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Alves swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Alves works Phoenix 's body with a nice hook. Phoenix throws a sloppy body shot
and Alves counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Alves throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Alves scores with a jab to the body. Jab, jab by Phoenix - just one landing. Alves throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Phoenix throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Alves to counter with a crisp jab. Alves connects with a jab. Phoenix doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Phoenix looks to land a combination but Alves avoids it well. Alves keeps the fight on the outside. Alves checks a leg kick. Phoenix moves away from the strike by Alves. Phoenix gets a clinch. Nice body punch from Phoenix . Phoenix breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Alves misses with a jab to the body
letting Phoenix counter with a right hand. Alves will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Phoenix lands a big uppercut and Alves crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Alves looks OK.
Alves is rocked!
It looks like Kane Alves has been cut. Phoenix stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Alves to get to his feet. Oh Alves is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves shoots in but no luck this time. Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Phoenix ! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Paul Phoenix !
