Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Wayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max House (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Wayne! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Max House! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Reed Andrews and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! House takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
House slips a jab from Wayne. House closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wayne circles away. Wayne scores with a hook. Wayne just misses with a punch to the body.
House fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wayne manages to avoid it. House takes a swing at Wayne's ribcage but misses. Wayne avoids the body shot from House.
House misses the jab. Wayne darts in and out, connecting with a jab. House with a lazy takedown attempt and Wayne counters with a straight right hand. Wayne lands a jab to the nose. Jab, jab by Wayne - just one landing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wayne looks to land a left hand but House moved out of range nicely. House moves out of range of the strikes. House throws a hook but Wayne avoids it easily. Nice defenses there by House. Wayne throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent House stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Wayne lands an overhand right. House dives in and grabs Wayne's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wayne pushes down on House's head and hops out. Wayne is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. House moves out of range as Wayne throws a body kick.
Wayne bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of House's head. Wayne shoots in and bounces House off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! House is looking to work some ground and pound but Wayne has wrist control. House manages to get himself to full guard.

Wayne stands up over House, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. House has his foot on Wayne's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wayne works his way back into a safe position though. Wayne works a leg free and moves into half guard. House is trying to get back to full guard. Wayne is keen to just control but House is a slippery customer. Wayne is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because House is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Max House is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. House ducks under a wild hook from Wayne. Wayne fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and House has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Wayne stuffs the takedown. House just misses with a punch to the body.
