Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeff Bakreek! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ray Trainer! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trainer throws a hook but Bakreek blocks it. Bakreek looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Trainer! The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Trainer tries to reverse the position but Bakreek maintains control. Bakreek wants to control the pace but Trainer is squirming around nicely. Trainer tries to get back to half guard but can't. Bakreek trying to control but Trainer is having none of it. Trainer tries to reverse the position but Bakreek maintains control. Trainer regains half guard. Trainer moves into full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bakreek throws a big elbow that misses. Bakreek keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Trainer's head. Trainer is trying to keep Bakreek in close.
Bakreek in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Trainer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bakreek's guard. Bakreek looking to hit a scissor sweep but Trainer is one step ahead there. Bakreek keeping moving, preventing Trainer from controlling successfully. Bakreek trying to keep a closed guard but Trainer is proving a slippery customer.
Trainer is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Trainer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Trainer stands and throws Bakreek's legs to the side, diving into side control. Trainer working away. Trainer taking a breather here. Bakreek taking a bit of punishment here - Trainer scoring with strikes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bakreek pushes Trainer away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Trainer gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Trainer misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Bakreek can't do much from the bottom here. Bakreek knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Trainer on the ground. Trainer gets to mount! Bakreek was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Trainer with the ground and pound from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bakreek wants to control but Trainer is having none of it. Trainer lands a big shot there that rocks Bakreek but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Bakreek tries to reverse the position but Trainer maintains control. Trainer wants to control the pace but Bakreek is squirming around nicely. Trainer raining down shots from the mount! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Trainer scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Bakreek?
Bakreek is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Bakreek is squirming around, avoiding Trainer's attempts to control the action. Trainer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Trainer is landing with some decent strikes but Bakreek is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Bakreek is rocked! Trainer goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Bakreek is on top in guard.
Oh Bakreek is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Trainer manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Bakreek takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Trainer's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
