Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between George Suzuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rolles Rubio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, George Suzuki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rolles Rubio!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Suzuki feints and as Rubio raises his hands in defense, Suzuki changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rubio keeping full guard, as Suzuki tries to pass.
Suzuki trying to control but Rubio is working from the bottom.
Rubio wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Suzuki wants to pass the guard but Rubio is keeping the position.
Suzuki trying to control the position from guard on top but Rubio is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rubio has Suzuki pulled in close to control his posture.

George Suzuki has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Rubio throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Suzuki closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rubio's guard.

Suzuki is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Rubio is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of George Suzuki.

Suzuki feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Let's hope that Rubio has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to George Suzuki.
Well Suzuki has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
