0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sasha Onishchenko! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Luis Engracia and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Onishchenko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Onishchenko closes the distance looking to clinch and Willett counters with a series of strikes. Onishchenko will be more careful next time no doubt. Onishchenko fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Onishchenko looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Willett is fending him off so far but Onishchenko persists. Willett circles away from the clinch attempt and Willett counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Some wild striking there from Onishchenko.

Willett throws a wild body kick that Onishchenko sees coming a mile off. Onishchenko shoots in for a double leg but Willett sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Onishchenko looks to land a combination but Willett avoids it well. Onishchenko will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Onishchenko shoots in looking for a takedown. Willett tries to sprawl out of it but Onishchenko keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Willett manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Onishchenko looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Onishchenko shoots in and drives through. Willett sprawls well. Willett drives through with a takedown into Onishchenko's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Willett slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Willett tries to move to mount but Onishchenko blocks the move with his legs. Willett has an Americana. Onishchenko didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Willett is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Willett hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
