Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Juan Carlos Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valko Strange (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Juan Carlos Ortiz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Valko Strange! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Bruno Hogan and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Strange shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ortiz but Ortiz pushes him off and we're back to square one. The fighters circle momentarily. Ortiz darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Ortiz scores with a decent looking hook. Strange shoots in for a double leg but Ortiz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Ortiz lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Strange shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Juan Carlos Ortiz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Valko Strange. Ortiz lands a jab. Strange fails with a takedown attempt. Ortiz gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Strange to score an easy takedown into full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ortiz tries to land a sweep but no joy. Strange throwing strikes from guard but Ortiz blocks nicely. Ortiz is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Strange is controlling him. Strange drops back looking for a leg! Ortiz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ortiz manages to kick Strange off! Strange jumps back into Ortiz's guard. Ortiz trying to control the position.
Strange is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Strange trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ortiz looking to control.
Strange prevents Ortiz from getting back to his feet. Ortiz tries to land a sweep but no joy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Strange missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Strange looking to pass the guard. Ortiz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Strange is one step ahead there. Strange wants to control from the top but Ortiz keeps moving. Strange postures up in Ortiz's guard and throws a big left but Ortiz blocks it. Ortiz is trying to control the position but Strange postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
We're going to have a standup here because Juan Carlos Ortiz wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Strange doesn't succeed with the takedown and Strange takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Ortiz digs a good body shot into Strange's ribs. Strange tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ortiz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Strange somewhat. Strange closes the distance and clinches up with Ortiz, looking for a takedown. Strange pushes Ortiz against the cage but Ortiz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ortiz tests Strange's chin there with a solid looking shot. Strange tries to move into range but Ortiz moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ortiz dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Valko Strange seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Strange looks gassed! Ortiz lunges at Strange with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Strange's hand. Strange shoots in but Ortiz avoids the takedown attempt easily. The fighters circle momentarily. Ortiz darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Strange is rocked! Ortiz walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Strange drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Ortiz swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Strange's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Juan Carlos Ortiz!
