PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Stuart Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Kazansky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kazansky has chosen Danger Zone as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stuart Ward!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 34 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Kazansky!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward stuffs the takedown.

Ward shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ward was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Ward prevents Kazansky from getting the reversal.
Kazansky wants to control but Ward is having none of it.
Ward controlling from mount.
Ward with shots to the head and body - Kazansky looks very uncomfortable down there.
Ward tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kazansky is wriggling around trying to escape.
Ward trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Kazansky is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Ward controlling from the full mount.
Kazansky is desperately trying to improve his position but Ward has a good base and remains in mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ward takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Ward thowing shots but they're missing.
Kazansky is looking to improve his position but Ward isn't that keen on the idea.
Ward looking to control and managing it successfully.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kazansky is desperately trying to improve his position but Ward has a good base and remains in mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ward avoids the attempt from Kazansky to control.
Ward controlling from mount.
Kazansky throwing hammer fists to the chest of Ward. What's that going to do exactly?

Ward wants to finish this one by submission but Kazansky is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ward.
Kazansky is looking to improve his position but Ward isn't that keen on the idea.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ward tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Ward lands with some strikes.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ward content just to control the position here.
Kazansky is in a horrible position here. Ward smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stuart Ward dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ward throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Tom Kazansky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kazansky closes the distance and clinches up with Ward, looking for a takedown. Kazansky pushes Ward against the cage but Ward circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ward thows a body shot but no joy.

Ward gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Ward lands a damaging elbow.


Kazansky is rocked!
Ward throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Kazansky is still on wobbly legs! Can Ward finish him?
Kazansky avoids a wild elbow strike from Ward.
Kazansky blocks an elbow strike.
Ward has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head that stumbles Kazansky - he's in trouble! Another big knee to the head from Ward, and another! Kazansky is out on his feet - the ref jumps in to save him and ends the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Stuart Ward!
Stuart Ward decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
