The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Del Norte has Lambreta up against the cage in a clinch.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Del Norte throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lambreta's waist but Lambreta gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Del Norte off to one side.

Del Norte is looking to stand up but Lambreta isn't so interested in that idea.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Del Norte pushes Lambreta off and scrambles back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Lambreta counters with a shoot takedown. Del Norte fights it but they end up in guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Del Norte is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lambreta can do anything to dispel that myth.

Del Norte seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Lambreta is looking to control Del Norte's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lambreta avoid being mounted?
