Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Emery Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankie Mai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Emery Allen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Frankie Mai!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Paul Gruel and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen misses with a wild combination.
Mai defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Allen.
Mai shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Allen pinned against the cage. Allen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Allen has managed to clinch.
Mai is trying to drag Allen to the mat but Allen just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Allen wants a takedown but no success here.
Allen tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Mai smiles and moves away.

Allen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mai's waist but Mai gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Allen off to one side.

Allen instigates a clinch.

Allen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Mai is fighting to break Allen's control of his arms but Allen is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Mai is trying to control the action in half guard but Allen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Mai drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mai jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Allen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Emery Allen has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Mai moves into the clinch.
Allen jumps guard but Mai turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Mai can't get the takedown.
Mai is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Allen is defending well.

Mai stands and steps away. Allen gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Mai closes this distance looking for a takedown but Allen circles away.
Emery Allen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frankie Mai.

Mai tries to keep at a distance but Allen has taken the fight into the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Allen takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Mai tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Allen paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Mai tries to pull guard but Allen forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Allen throws a knee to the head but misses.

Allen goes for a takedown attempt but Mai pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Mai shoots in for a takedown but Allen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Allen throws a sloppy head kick and Mai moves out of range easily.
Mai shoots in looking for a takedown but Allen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mai's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Mai blocks a head kick by Allen.
Emery Allen is winning the standup battle so far.
Allen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mai sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Allen somewhat.

Mai closes the distance and pushes Allen back into the cage.

Mai has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Allen is trying to keep an underhook but Mai manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Allen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Mai thows a huge punch but Allen dodges it nicely.
Allen is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Mai jumps into side control!

Mai is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Allen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Mai tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mai has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Allen holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Allen can't do much from the bottom here.
Frankie Mai is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Mai is chipping away with strikes.

And that's the end of the fight!
Frankie Mai comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Mai winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
