Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cole Konrad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Asylum Shaco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shirou Masuda and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaco shoots and misses
and Konrad counters with a shoot takedown. Shaco fights it but they end up in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Konrad loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Shaco has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Konrad can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Konrad connects with a nice short shot to Shaco's temple.

Konrad looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Shaco with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Konrad wants to take a breather but Shaco is having none of it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Konrad slips a nice elbow through Shaco's hands, connecting with Shaco's forehead.
Konrad seems to be working for a kimura but Shaco defends the submission attempt.
Shaco is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Konrad pulls his head out easily.

Konrad closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Konrad wants to control but Shaco is keeping him busy.
Shaco is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Konrad off and has taken his back!
Cole Konrad overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Shaco has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Konrad has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Konrad got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shaco has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Konrad has managed to get both his arms back between Shaco's legs - danger averted.

Shaco postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Konrad is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shaco, into his guard.

Konrad has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Shaco to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Konrad is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Shaco pulls down on the head and he's put Konrad to sleep! This one is all over!
