The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rthihovsky looks to land a right hand but Rubble moved out of range. Rubble thumps Rthihovsky with a low kick. Rubble slips a jab from Rthihovsky. Rubble misses with an attempted mid kick.
A jab from Rubble misses. Rthihovsky misses with an uppercut. Rthihovsky connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Rubble momentarily.

Horrible takedown by Rthihovsky or perhaps it was just good defense by Rubble which made him look bad. Rthihovsky lands with a right hand. Rubble slips a straight right by Rthihovsky. Rthihovsky seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rubble does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Rubble takes one on the button. Rthihovsky tries to bum rush Rubble with a series of wild strikes but Rubble uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Rubble lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Rthihovsky has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Rthihovsky and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Rubble throws a head kick that misses. Rthihovsky shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Fou Rthihovsky overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rthihovsky trying to move into half guard but instead Rubble has managed to sweep!

He's bucked Rubble off and has taken his back! Rthihovsky keeps control of the position as Rubble tries to break free.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rthihovsky holds on and takes a little breather.
