Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Darren Sparks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jiradet Nakphan!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sparks looks for the body kick but Nakphan saw that one coming.

Nakphan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.

Nakphan breaks from the clinch.

Sparks rushes Nakphan and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Sparks is looking to break free of the clinch but Nakphan has double underhooks.
Nakphan unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Sparks is trying to break free.
Sparks managing to block the knees to the body from Nakphan.
Nakphan lands a knee to the body.
Nakphan keeps control of Sparks as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Sparks escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sparks connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Nakphan momentarily.
Sparks tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nakphan swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sparks takes a kick to the side of the head.
That kick from Nakphan tenderised Sparks's leg. Sparks is trying to keep his angry face on.
Nakphan moves in looking to clinch but Sparks pushes him off.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sparks sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Nakphan throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Sparks connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jiradet Nakphan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nakphan tries to clinch up but Sparks circles away and keeps his distance.
Nakphan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sparks.
Nakphan moves in looking to clinch but Sparks pushes him off.

Nakphan tries to land a knee to the head but Sparks blocks with his arms.
Sparks avoiding damage as Nakphan throws knees to the body.

and Sparks counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Sparks moves into range and clinches up with Nakphan.
Sparks wants to break the clinch but can't.
Nakphan wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Sparks has him pressed against the ropes.
Sparks tries a body shot but Nakphan blocks it.

Sparks escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sparks fails with a takedown attempt.
Nakphan moves to clinch but Sparks breaks away
and Sparks counters with a left and a right that stings Nakphan.
Sparks throws a head kick that misses.
Nakphan tries to clinch up.
Nakphan is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sparks keeps the fight on the outside.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nakphan moves to clinch but Sparks breaks away
and Sparks connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


It looks like Jiradet Nakphan has been cut.

Sparks moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Nakphan goes down! Can Sparks finish him!?


Nakphan is rocked!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sparks slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Sparks tries for a kimura but Nakphan is defending well.
Nakphan sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Nakphan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Sparks content to control rather than advance.
Sparks is looking to advance position but Nakphan won't allow it.

Sparks wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nakphan keeps working.
Nakphan is trying to maintain the position but Sparks is very close to passing his half guard.
Nakphan tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Sparks has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Sparks with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Sparks stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Sparks's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Nakphan fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Nakphan is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Nakphan throws a nice looking combination but Sparks bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nakphan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sparks swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Nakphan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nakphan slaps away a takedown attempt from Sparks, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Sparks tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nakphan swivels and escapes.
Darren Sparks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nakphan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sparks swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Nakphan moves in looking to clinch but Sparks pushes him off.

Nakphan clinches up with Sparks and pushes him back against the ropes.

Nakphan misses with a knee to the head.

Nakphan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nakphan throws a hook to the side of Sparks's head but Sparks sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Sparks connects with an inside leg kick.

Sparks fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darren Sparks. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sparks throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Sparks.
Nakphan will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Nakphan tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Sparks manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Sparks takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Sparks tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nakphan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sparks somewhat.

Sparks shoots for a takedown but Nakphan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Nakphan cracks Sparks with a right hand to the side of the head.

Sparks drives through with a takedown into Nakphan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nakphan is looking to stand up but Sparks isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Nakphan has a closed guard, preventing Sparks from standing up.
Sparks passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Sparks stands up and we're back to a striking position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nice uppercut lands for Sparks. That snapped Nakphan's head back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Darren Sparks will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Nakphan looks to land a left hand but Sparks moved out of range nicely.

and Sparks counters with a stiff right hand.

Sparks connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Nakphan to the floor! Sparks dives in looking for the finish!
Nakphan is still in real trouble! Can Sparks finish him?

Sparks working for a guillotine from mount but Nakphan is in no mood to give up.

Sparks get's back to his feet.
Jiradet Nakphan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nakphan closes the distance but Sparks moves to the side
and Sparks counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!
