Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pete Sproles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Brophy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sproles's entrance music is can't be touched -Roy Jones Jr. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Sproles.

It looks like Sean Brophy has been cut.
Pete Sproles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Brophy misses.
Sproles misses with a straight right.
Sproles throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sproles uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Brophy.
Sproles throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Brophy's head.
Brophy throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
A slow jab from Brophy misses its intended target.
Brophy throws a hook to the side of Sproles's head but Sproles sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Brophy shoots in looking for a takedown. Sproles tries to sprawl out of it but Brophy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sproles manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Sproles throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sproles throws a right hand that Brophy ducks under and follows up with a left that Brophy also avoids with ease.

Brophy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sproles tries to avoid it but Brophy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sproles to the ground. Sproles escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Brophy counters with a left and a right that stings Sproles.

Sproles fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brophy manages to avoid it.

No joy there for Sproles, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Brophy throws out a loose jab but Sproles uses good head movement to avoid it.

Sproles throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

and Brophy counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Sproles tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brophy swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Sproles tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Brophy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Sproles wants to clinch up but Brophy keeps it at a distance.

and Brophy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Brophy lands a nice hook to Sproles's body. Sproles takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Brophy feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Sproless jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Sproles is rocked!

Brophy connects with a right that clearly hurt Sproles. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Brophy proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Sproles collapses and taps out under the pressure!

Sean Brophy tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
