Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sloat Gresham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gresham might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Three Days Grace - Animal I Have Become. Sloat Gresham has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Cody Willis!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Steven Brown and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gresham tries to clinch up but Willis circles away and keeps his distance.
Gresham is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Willis looks to land a combination but Gresham avoids it well.

Gresham tries to clinch up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Willis. Gresham does a little dance to reset his feet.

Gresham closes the distance and clinches.
Gresham misses with a punch to the body.
Willis stops a takedown attempt from Gresham.
Gresham tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Willis just stands there and leans against the cage.
Gresham fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sloat Gresham. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Willis lands an uppercut.
Gresham is trying to pull guard but Willis turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Willis gets underhooks to prevent Gresham's takedown attempt.

Willis works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Gresham not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Willis stands up from Gresham's guard - Willis perhaps looking for a knockout.
Cody Willis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Gresham moves into range and clinches up with Willis.

Willis ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Willis no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gresham pushes down on Willis's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Gresham is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Willis sees it coming and defends easily.
Willis moves into full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Willis manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Gresham tries to clinch up but Willis circles away and keeps his distance.
Willis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gresham circles away quickly and effectively.
A big right from Gresham misses.

and Willis counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Willis circles away from the clinch attempt
and Willis connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Willis keeps the fight on the outside.
Willis throws a shot to the body.

Willis looks to land a combination but Gresham avoids it well.
Gresham's corner calls for a 1-2. Gresham obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Gresham tries to clinch up but Willis circles away and keeps his distance.
Willis misses with a jab, cross combination.

The fight stays on the outside here - Gresham looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Willis circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gresham throws a series of punches but Willis avoids them all with ease.
Willis throws a right and a left that both miss.
Willis cracks Gresham with an open hand slap.

Gresham uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Gresham tries to clinch there but Willis circles away.

A slow jab from Gresham misses its intended target.

Gresham rushes Willis and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Gresham jumps guard but Willis stands there with Gresham around his waist. Gresham gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Gresham is trying to pull guard but Willis has him pressed against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Willis prevents a takedown attempt there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Willis throws a punch but it's blocked by Gresham.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Cody Willis will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Gresham fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cody Willis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Willis throws a looping overhand right but Gresham ducks down to avoid it.

Gresham closes the distance and pushes Willis back into the cage.
Gresham tries to pull guard but Willis won't allow it.

Gresham has hold of one of Willis's legs. Willis is fighting the takedown attempt but Gresham gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gresham is sitting in close to Willis's body. Willis has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Gresham is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Gresham is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Willis.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Cody Willis!

An out of breath Cody Willis thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
