PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Fisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Rabbit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Chris Fisher has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Fisher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roger Rabbit!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fisher looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Fisher looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Fisher shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rabbit throws a push kick but Fisher slaps the foot to one side.
Horrible takedown by Fisher or perhaps it was just good defense by Rabbit which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Fisher. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Rabbit feints and as Fisher raises his hands in defense, Rabbit changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rabbit content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Rabbit is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Fisher looking for a guillotine here but Rabbit defends easily.

Rabbit gets to his feet. Fisher looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Fisher gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Rabbit sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Rabbit lands a couple of decent looking shots.

so Rabbit counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Rabbit stands up and waves to Fisher to follow him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fisher wants to get back to his feet but Rabbit is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Rabbit stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fisher swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rabbit controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Rabbit has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
I looks like Rabbit might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Rabbit is looking to advance position but Fisher has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Rabbit tries to reverse the position but Fisher maintains control.

Fisher goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Rabbit is on top in guard.
Rabbit makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rabbit is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Fisher keeping full guard, as Rabbit tries to pass.
Rabbit postures up in Fisher's guard and throws a big left but Fisher blocks it.
Rabbit is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

and Rabbit counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rabbit.
Fisher can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rabbit controls the pace.
Rabbit slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roger Rabbit dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Rabbit drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.


Fisher is rocked!

Rabbit is working to tighten is grip on Fisher's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Fisher has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Rabbit is really squeezing tight and eventually Fisher passes out! Rabbit breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Roger Rabbit!
