Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Armand Helden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimbo Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Amos Moses - Jerry Reed. Jimbo Johnson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Armand Helden! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimbo Johnson! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson tries to clinch up. Johnson is looking to clinch. Helden shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Johnson looking for a guillotine here but Helden defends easily.
Helden thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Helden postures up in Johnson's guard and throws a big left but Johnson blocks it. Johnson has his foot on Helden's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Helden works his way back into a safe position though. Johnson looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Helden passes into side control.
Johnson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Johnson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Check out the look on Helden's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
That's one minute gone in the round. Helden looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Helden tries for a kimura but Johnson is defending well. Helden is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Johnson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Helden lands a nice forearm strike. Helden advances to full mount. Helden tries to control but Johnson wriggling away. Helden is breathing heavily. Johnson wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Helden.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Johnson tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Helden tries to control but Johnson wriggling away. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Johnson is trying to escape the mount.
Helden is working for a guillotine from mount but Johnson frees his head quite easily.

Helden has control of Johnson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Johnson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Johnson sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Johnson on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Helden seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Johnson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Helden takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Helden scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Helden tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Johnson. Johnson flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Helden moves nicely into side control. Helden looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Helden wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working. Johnson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Helden looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Johnson manages to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Helden pulls his head out easily. Helden scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Helden seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Johnson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Johnson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Helden content to control rather than advance. Johnson is controlling Helden's trapped leg to prevent Helden from advancing to side control. Johnson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Helden is working away from the top position though. Johnson tries to roll over but Helden keeps him under control. Johnson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Johnson tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Armand Helden dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
