Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paul Harvey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Randy Ortiz! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ortiz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Harvey paws at him with a jab and circles away. Ortiz has managed to clinch.
Harvey blocks an uppercut.
A body shot lands from Ortiz.
Harvey throws a punch but it's blocked by Ortiz. Ortiz has Harvey pressed against the cage.
Harvey tries to break free but Ortiz pushes him back against the cage. Ortiz throws a head punch that misses. Harvey blocks a body shot from Ortiz. Harvey is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Ortiz lands with a light punch inside. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A shot in the inside from Ortiz. Ortiz is trying to trip Harvey. He has hold of a leg but Harvey is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Ortiz persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Ortiz tries to free his leg and advance position but Harvey is retaining full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ortiz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Harvey keeping moving, preventing Ortiz from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harvey utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Ortiz throws a big right hand that misses. Ortiz is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Ortiz lands a couple of elbows. Ortiz sitting in guard, not really doing much. Ortiz pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Harvey is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ortiz throwing strikes from guard but Harvey blocks nicely. Ortiz pushes down on Harvey's leg and manages to get into half guard. Harvey pushes Ortiz off looking to stand but Ortiz dives back in and keeps control.
Ortiz trying to control from half guard but Harvey is working away. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ortiz in particular looking to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harvey keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Randy Ortiz was stalling too much, according to the referee. Harvey misses with a wild body shot. Ortiz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Harvey.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Ortiz, right into the meat.
Ortiz scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ortiz looks to score with a jab to the body but Harvey is just out of range. Ortiz slips a jab and a cross from Harvey.
Good exchange - Harvey coming out on top. Harvey waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Ortiz. Harvey ducks right into an uppercut from Ortiz. This has been an exciting period of action! Harvey gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Ortiz misses the jab. Ortiz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Harvey circles away. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A big left from Ortiz misses. Harvey misses with a lunging right hand
and Ortiz counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Ortiz throws a head kick that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Randy Ortiz dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!
A punch combination from Harvey misses. Harvey blocks a leg kick. Ortiz bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Ortiz tries to land a front kick but Harvey steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Ortiz thows a left - swing and a miss! A slapping leg kick lands for Harvey.
Harvey tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Ortiz is able to avoid easily. Harvey misses with a looping left. Nice shot by Ortiz. Randy Ortiz seems to be getting the better of the standup. Harvey showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ortiz.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ortiz misses with a leg kick and Harvey counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ortiz's knee momentarily. A decent looking cross lands there for Ortiz. Ortiz misses with a leg kick and Harvey counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Paul Harvey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A decent looking cross lands there for Harvey. Ortiz throws a leg kick but Harvey sees it coming and checks it nicely. Harvey walks forward, straight into a front kick from Ortiz. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ortiz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Harvey slips a straight right by Ortiz. Ortiz misses with a low kick as Harvey jumps back. Ortiz lands a leg kick that knocks Harvey off balance momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A momentary lapse in concentration from Harvey enables Ortiz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Harvey manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Ortiz throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Ortiz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Ortiz with a flurry of punches that miss. Ortiz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Ortiz tries to free his leg and advance position but Harvey is retaining full guard. Ortiz stands up over Harvey, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ortiz controlling from the top position. Ortiz trying to control the position from guard on top but Harvey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Randy Ortiz. Ortiz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Harvey sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ortiz somewhat. Ortiz jabbing away but nothing is landing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harvey connects with a body shot. Harvey throws a nice inside leg kick. A bone on bone clash there as Ortiz blocks the leg kick.
Ortiz looks to score with a jab to the body but Harvey is just out of range. Ortiz blocks a head kick by Harvey.
Ortiz misses with a series of wild punches.
Harvey takes a body punch but keeps moving. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ortiz looks to land a body kick but Harvey moved away. Paul Harvey has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! A slapping body kick lands there for Ortiz.
And that's the end of the fight! Randy Ortiz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Ortiz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
