The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Igor Prikhodko and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soendergaard feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Soendergaard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Da swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Da looking for a sweep. Not yet Da, not yet.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Soendergaard looks up at the clock and then as Da takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Soendergaard smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Da is working to avoid the ground and pound but Soendergaard connects with a decent elbow.

Soendergaard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Soendergaard has hold of Da's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Da manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Soendergaard is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Da has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Da!

Soendergaard pulls Da in close to prevent any damage.

Da really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Soendergaard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Soendergaard throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Da working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Da goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Da pushes Soendergaard back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Da lands with a right to the head.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Da.
Soendergaard's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Da doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Soendergaard jumps guard but Da stands there with Soendergaard around his waist. Soendergaard gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Christian Soendergaard. That's going to take a lot out of him.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Da creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Da wants to control from the top but Soendergaard keeps moving.

Da has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Soendergaard to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Da is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Soendergaard pulls down on the head and he's put Da to sleep! This one is all over!
