PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ronnie Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alejandro Mora (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morgan comes to the cage accompanied by Black Snake Moan. Mora is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Seven Nation Army. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ronnie Morgan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alejandro Mora!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mora shoots in and drives through. Morgan sprawls well.
A nice combination there by Mora.
Morgan moves away from the strike by Mora.
Morgan throws a chopping leg kick but Mora manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Mora closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mora lands in his opponent's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mora content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Mora stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Morgan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mora might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Morgan kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Mora cracks Morgan with a big right hand but Morgan just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Mora is looking to take a break and control but Morgan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Morgan wants to get back to his feet.

Morgan connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Mora shoots for a double leg takedown but Morgan sprawls well. He's pushed Mora's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Mora shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Morgan as he avoids it easily.

Morgan finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mora.

Morgan throws a front kick that sends Mora stumbling back into the cage.

Morgan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Morgan feints and then cracks Mora's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mora down.
Crunch! Morgan slams his shin into Mora's torso.
Mora looks to land a combination but Morgan avoids it well.
Morgan fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mora.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mora swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Morgan counters with a head kick. That will keep Mora thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Morgan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mora on the ground.
Mora controls Morgan momentarily but Morgan frees himself.

Mora working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Morgan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Morgan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Morgan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Alejandro Mora comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Mora has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
